Sea World 2009

We took our first trip of the summer to Sea World yesterday. It was a little misty, but that ended up making it pretty much perfect because it was much quieter and we didn't really get wet.

Our first stop was the Shamu show "Believe".

Colin was fascinated from the time it began!
Oooh-ing.
And pointing.
And clapping any time he thought they did something cool!
After that we stopped by the birds. It's cool because they can swim up so close you could touch them. I think Colin would have sat and watched the water birds all afternoon. They were all "ducks" though as far as he was concerned!
We stopped by the water for a snack between the shows we wanted to see. From here, he saw the roller coaster across the water and was pointing and giggling. Oh boy...Next, we watched part of "Viva" (aerial acrobats and dolphins), but it ended up being too much sitting. He liked what we saw, but I decided to cut out early as he was getting antsy. Maybe next time we'll do that one first! Then we went to go see the dolphins, which are also close enough for you to touch. He loved this too! I was hesitant to let him feed them yet though...too likely he'd just eat the fish himself! Ick! Last, we went to the aquarium. He liked the fish and we happened to get there at feeding time when they do a show with two guys - one outside the tank and one in. There were five older kids sitting down in front of the tank listening to the guys.As soon as Colin saw that he struck out on his own to go listen too. My baby is so independent! All in all we had a pretty good day there and I'm looking forward to watching more of the shows with Colin now that he is so much more interested in them! Soon the weather should be good enough that we can watch a show and do the water park area! My water baby's going to LOVE that!
