In case you haven't caught them on Laura's blog, here's some of what Colin's been up to while he's been away this week. Michael and I have gotten a LOT done on the house and it goes on the market tomorrow. :-? I will have some of our pictures up for you later, but right now I need to go finish painting our moulding!
Fishing on Grandpa Joe's boat. Skiing on the wii. Apparently he's getting rather good... Big boy bed. Pulling Bear (which his Aunt Kristen made) in the wagon. Telling Oma he likes "pickles and icecream" - what, is this kid pregnant? Hauling rocks to his bucket. Petting/drivethrough zoo. The lemur he liked (there were reportedly also lemurs he did not like, but this one was pet-worthy). A camel he had a spitting contest with. That's my boy... Okay, that's it for now - off to get some more work done!
Here's a highlight of some of the things we've been up to this week. On Monday we went to the zoo with Lily and Adrianna. We were hoping to go back yesterday, but it was very rainy out. :(
We had a great time Monday with our friends: Colin always mooches snacks off the girls no matter what I have for him to eat. He ate theirs AND his. Cheese! Feeding the ducks: Running on the "snake". We also saw a squirrel at the zoo. :) Bye bye zoo! On Tuesday morning I found Colin and Percy snuggled up together on the bed. And this is probably the saddest thing I've seen this week. The allergens here are awful, but it's rained a bit and so should be slowly improving. And this is my sweet boy reading one of his favorite books this morning:
Each day, it seems, Colin does or says something sillier than the day before. Yesterday he opened the back door, said "I need to go outside... wait, I need shoes," ran off, and came back with these. And although it's from a few days ago, here's a quick pic of part of our evening ritual. Note that Colin is now in charge of dog walking as well as feeding.
For some reason we cannot explain, Colin has been giving us "doggie kisses" the past few days. Gross if it's happening to you. Funny if you are just nearby and have a camera. Sorry Michael (he's actually still getting "kissed" as I post this)! And, hopefully not inappropriate. We are officially wearing big boy pants most of the time now, at least at home. I'm still not brave enough to leave the house without pullups. :) These are the smallest we've been able to buy and he no longer really looks like a toddler to me, even though they're totally falling off! This also means we're down another pant size - back to 12 months to fit his skinny little waist.
12-1-10: "I don't like my toys. I want to break them." Well, that should make Christmas shopping easier.
10-26-10: Wants to tell his brother or sister that "making mama throw up is NOT a good idea."
10-23-10: "Dad, I want to watch a movie." "What makes you think it's movie time?" "For the Bible tells me so." "Um, I really doubt the Bible says that."
7-2-10: 6:30 am tromps downstairs..."Mom, I want ice cream for breakfast, but dad said 'no'."
6-25-10: "Canola (granola) bar starts with 'c' just like Colin and cat and camel." Um, not exactly, but right idea...lol! Mmmm, yummy canola bars.
6-16-10: While picking peaches, "Colin, Colin, look. Look over there. Do you see the big rabbit?!" "Mama, that a hare." And he was almost certainly right.
5-16-10: Colin crying at Michael and I. "You're a joy, Colin.""I a NOT a joy!"Michael and I laugh, "I know sweetie, mama was being sarcastic anyay.""Mama, dada, no laughing at me! I a NOT a joy!!!"Michael and I laugh harder...
5-9-10:Detoxing after way too much time with grandparents. "No mama. Stop looking at Colin! Mama go upstairs!"Happy Mother's Day to me. :)
4-13-10: Wakes up after two hours asleep at night,"I need to potty!"Goes, then I ask, "Are you going to go back to bed?" He responds, "That's silly! No way!"
3-5-10: Nana walks in to get Colin after he woke up (~5:45 am). "What a Nana hair do?!"
Michael and I have been married for almost 14 years. We have two sons who keep us constantly entertained and busy. I started digital scrapbooking at the end of February '09 and designing that fall. It's not always easy to carve out the time for it as much as I'd like, but it's part of what keeps me sane!
