Goofy Guys

I'm not sure who is sillier: Michael for doing this or Colin for laughing until he was falling over and snorting! He did this for nearly 20 minutes right after his nap.

Pumpkin Party

We had some friends over last night to carve pumpkins and eat soup (in 80 degree weather). Since all of us had recently moved from Ohio (we've been here the longest) we needed the fakeout to make it feel like fall this year!Really though, it was all for the kids!
While the dads hollowed out the pumpkins, the older kids painted small ones. They really seemed to enjoy that! They quickly got over any tentativeness about the paint and smeared it on! Brenna's started out black and then turned kind of a cool purply color!Colin is no longer the baby. :)
Lily:And Natalie:Once the dads were done hollowing them out, the kids picked designs (and some helped carve). James looks freakishly similar to his pumpkin!

P.S. My camera is officially dead...I will try to get another one quickly and get pictures up again soon!

Michael's Home!

Michael got home yesterday afternoon. Colin was unimpressed with his arrival at the airport - there were too many other interesting people to look at. However, he did seem happy to have him home and wailed this morning while reaching for daddy when we dropped him off at the nursery. Broke my heart. Here are some pictures from last night and this morning:

Death-grip on dad.

First bath in big tub.
My boys sleeping this morning. :)

Squadron Officer School

Here is a video Michael made of his flight at SOS. Shoot him an email if you want a copy (michael_seal@att.net). He has 17 and 7 MB versions.

And one of the videos on YouTube he came home with...

Tattoos

So Courtney was going to get her tattoo "edited" this afternoon (didn't happen, different story) and rather than risk Ryleigh running amok in the tattoo parlor I came along. I also brought rub on tattoos for the kids. Colin's is manly and Roo's is girly. :) You know us...we turned an otherwise bust trip into a photo op.
Screaming Monkey - that's the actual name of the place.

Stud.

His "look tough" face.

And, before you think we've let them become totally corrupted, here's a picture of them kissing each other when we got back to San Antonio.

Pictures

He loves looking at all the bottles in the refrigerator. Today's choice was Tabasco...daddy will be proud!
Anyone ever seen that look on a Seal boy before?
Colin's picture is now immortalized in Penney's. Very cool. :)

Home at last...

So we drove home and then had to have Laura back at the airport at 4:30 Saturday morning for her flight back to Arkansas. It made for a long couple days, but was definitely worth it not to have to do the AR/TX stretch by myself. Poor Laura got stuck in the back, where Percy decided about Waco to pile onto her (even though he had the whole front passenger seat to himself). Spoiled dog...
We eventually made Colin take his turn at the wheel. I wish he'd keep his eyes on the road though. It makes me nervous.
It was still so warm in San Antonio this weekend, especially after fall temperatures back home. We blew up Colin's new pool and he played in the back yard for a while.

And then he decided he was done.

Monday in Arkansas

Colin trying to figure out how to get the ball now that he pushed it too far away. Beside the ball is the "awkward moose" Joe found for him in Jackson Hole, WY. It is gangly like Colin. :)
He fed himself for the first time today: a lemon, which he loved.
And the first time using a regular high chair. He had no problem with it and liked being able to reach the table, which his chair at home doesn't let him do yet.

Ladies' Man

Saturday while we were in Arkansas we visited Dennis and Tammy again, who were watching three of their grandaughters. Brekyn is just a couple months younger than Colin, but he was far more interested in her older sister Ayree! (see their blog Precious Moments)
While the girls were dressing up, Colin wore the Davy Crockett hat. He actually seemed to like it, so we will keep that in mind for his costume box! :)

Later yesterday afternoon Colin got to "swim" for the first time. The pool is still too cold from all the weird weather, so Joe filled up the hot tub with bath temp water and he got in that. He loved it. When we put him on his tummy he started kicking (as though to move...not frantically) to go toward his ducky. He even moved his arms like the breast stroke several times. He lounged and played in the water until he was totally pruny!

Peter, Peter, Pumpkin Eater

So I thought this was a cute idea. Turns out he hated it! :)
You can see how he has started shrieking immediately whenever he is uphappy though!

Fall!

Yesterday we went to the local orchard and got some yummy apples. There are no words for how much Colin likes trees, but he was definitely more interested in the leaves than in the apples! This morning it was chilly enough in Missouri that Colin needed his hood up for our morning walk!
