Snow Seal

Joe and Laura got a bunch of snow this weekend and decided to build a snow seal and send pictures for Colin. Here are a few:
I think that's pretty amazing, huh?

Rainy Day Fun

Well, I had a ton of uninteresting errands I had to do today, so while we were on base and the rain had slowed to a mist for a bit, Colin and I stopped to look at the planes. Here's an early model of what daddy will eventually be teaching at AFIT: low observables. Tonight when Michael got home, Colin was able to tell him he saw the "SR-senty one stealf". Needless to say, once Michael got it translated, he was impressed! :)
*note, I am more impressed with my camera phone's capabilities in cloudy, rainy outdoor conditions than inside restaurants...

Fun at the Zoo

Last week we met several of our friends at the zoo. Here are some pictures Courtney took:

Library Story Time

We met Mary, Emma, and Conner at a different library than our normal one for their story time this morning. Colin loved all the songs they sang and even did a pretty good job with the actions and following directions there. When the inside portion was done, all the kids went outside to blow bubbles. Here's Colin running gleefully to me with his bubble wand.
He very carefully watched how Emma was doing it.
She's really good and was getting bubbles most of the time!
Colin would totally guffaw whenever she'd make some come out. He is a much less skilled bubble-blower at the moment.
Bless his heart, he was blowing so hard, but you can see the bubble solution dripping off. I tried and tried to show him how to hold it, but he just insists on only blowing on a plane parallel to the wand, not through the opening.
When we got back inside to look for books, Colin did one of my favorite things. The first book we decided to take home, he took from me, sat down in the middle of the row, opened it up and started talking about the pictures. I just find this absolutely endearing!
Love that little guy!

Spending the Day with Old Friends

We got to spend the day yesterday with Courtney and Ryleigh before they headed back to Vegas. We picked them up for lunch and headed to Grimaldi's Pizzaria. The kiddos each got a ball of dough to play with while we waited on the food. They both mashed it for a while and then started nibbling...
...and doing things to get a laugh.
After lunch we headed to the playground. Colin and Ryleigh had a lot of fun on the equipment and just generally chasing each other. Roo would run away and hide in these trees and then Colin would find her and they'd both giggle and do it again.
On the way back to the car, the two of them were stopping traffic!
After the playground, we headed over to see Lauren and Lily. Ryleigh fed Colin from her little dish and he kept following her around asking for more! What a funny little guy!
Fortunately, she was happy to keep making him whatever it was he liked eating so much!
For dinner, we all went to a local burger joint that has a sandbox on the patio for the kids. They all loved playing together just a little longer!
And the mom-a-razzi loved taking their pictures!
We had such a fun day and were so glad we got to spend it with our friends!

Friday Art Day

On Friday we had kind of a free for all art day. Here's one of the kids' masterpieces.
Ryleigh, Courtney, and Joanne got to come and Colin enjoyed monopolizing Joanne's time at the art table.
Ryleigh made some very serious artwork for her Grampy.
Check out the focus!
And these two together. Well, I really just don't know what to say.
They're cute at any rate.
Afterward, Colin and I had a lunch date at Genghis Grill. I wish I would have taken my camera, but I did get some pictures on my phone. He was a little angel, chattering away and smiling at everyone. While we waited on our food, I let him play with a couple horses. He used the paper napkin rings to make a feed trough, the space between the tables as a "river" for them to drink out of, and covered them up with bits of napkin for their naptime! Such an imagination!
I also got a few pics on Saturday morning of Michael and Colin reading together.
If you look carefully around the room you can also see a barn, a river, a copse of trees, a corn field, and a soy bean field. If you use your imagination a bit. :)
