Hiking in Canyon State Park

After church this morning, we spent much of the afternoon hiking at a state park near us. It had great trails and they are putting in some primitive, hike-in camping that should be finished this summer. We were a little bummed it wasn't done now, because next weekend should be perfect for it! Colin did a great job - unsurprisingly, since he loves being outside - and snacked his way through his hike! :) Here are he and Michael at the trailhead:

Yep, cacti. Just had to throw that in for the folks back home. Weird to be hiking in this terrain.
Colin checking out what's in the pack for lunch.
Not a great picture, due to lighting, but proof I was there too. :)
Colin fell asleep on the way back to the truck. Poor baby.

I LOVE IT! Wished we had been there to follow along with you guys. Colin looked right at home in the pack. What a cute shot of him looking for food in the other pack. Going to have to fix that boy a pillow for the walk back next time!:-)

Colin is learning early. You have to take good snacks..Raspberry trail bars??? Have fun with him because the years are short.

that's where we hiked for our anniversary last year! it's pretty cool, huh? I like it cuz it reminds me of AZ trails with all the cacti and rocks! lol!
