Preserves and Ponies

This morning Grandpa Joe called and said the Pear Fairy (Cecil and Dorthy) had left two bushel of pears on the doorstep and wondered if we wanted to come help make preserves, honey, and butter. We got all two bushel done by this afternoon and it is yummy!
Colin was such a good boy. He was an even better supervisor...
While the pears were boiling, we went to see the horses. Colin seemed to really enjoy it!


Here's a collage of the progression of our day. There were about 3.5 5-gallon buckets of pears and we got 24 jars of preserves, 11 jars of butter, and a couple jars of honey.
