Lucky Us!

One year ago today...Colin decided to make his appearance.

We brought Colin home from the hospital on March 16. I had found the cute "lucky charm" shirt a couple weeks before and planned to take a picture of him in it a month later - I guess Colin decided he need to wear it for a photo shoot ON St. Patrick's day, so he came early. We also had planned a party for the evening of the 15th, but again he had other ideas! Tonight will be his first St. Pat's party! Here are some old (and one new) pictures for you to enjoy!

Me sitting in antepartum testing for a regularly scheduled appointment. I was almost finished with the prep for the St. Pat's party two days hence...
The next day!
And getting ready to leave the hospital!
Colin's first St. Patrick's day!
And today, a year later - his birthday and getting ready for his first St. Pat's party!

Baby's First...

Shiner.
Well, it was bound to happen sooner or later with this kid. The first picture makes it look worse than it actually is - he's making that face because he just got a drive-by-kissing from both dogs! It does show the bruise pretty well though. He woke up from a nap (yes, a *nap*!) Tuesday afternoon and it was starting to bruise; I'm pretty sure it's from earlier in the day either when he hit his head on the dishwasher or on his crib...either could have done it. Yesterday the bit of swelling had gone down and it was getting darker and today it's really just dark. Here's a couple more where you can see his eye isn't actually swollen shut like it looks in the first picture. :) Incidentally, none of this seems to have bothered him at all. Surprise, surprise...

"Water Fountain"

Colin helped me water the garden yesterday - and loved sticking his hand in the stream - then discovered that even when the hose is off he can get water to drink out of the nozzle. The first picture, with the fish face is my favorite!

You can see his tongue in this one! Glad we got that thing clipped!

Pig

Two fistin' Rudy's last night. He drank an 8 oz bottle and a glass of water, ate two slices of brisket, two slices of chicken, and a slice of bread for dinner, then had another 8 oz bottle an hour and a half later. This morning he woke up and had another 8 oz bottle, some juice, 1 1/2 muffins and some scrambled eggs. I'm afraid of how many new clothes I'm going to have to buy when this growth spurt is over...or maybe he will continue not growing and just burning all these calories he is consuming. Oh, to have a Seal metabolism....

In other news, we officially have bulges on the bottom gums...maybe he will eventually have teeth and we won't have to buy dentures for his birthday!

Just Playing

Yay! Courtney is back in town! We miss her (and Ryleigh) when they are gone! I don't know what we'll do this summer when they move. We met them, Courtney's grandma, and Lauren and Lily at the park on Thursday (you can see them all in the background. Colin is swinging right before we left because he spent most of the time we were there eating his lunch and mine.

Friday we played over at Johnny and Chriz's house. The boys had one of those magnetic writing pads, which Colin thought was very cool. Izaiah chased him around the coffee table later until Colin was exhausted! Yay! Thanks Izaiah!!!
And then yesterday afternoon I walked around the corner to find this...his new favorite place to play. The boy is climbing on everything lately!

New Puppy! (Sorta)

Meet Dakota! We're puppy-sitting for some friends from church! :) He's 13 weeks old and ever so puppy like! I had forgotten what it was like. He and Colin really hit it off and even Percy seems to enjoy having him here (most of the time)!

A Boy Is Noise Covered in Dirt

I think this is our first real experience with that. I was gardening on Sunday and Colin joined me for the tail end of it (otherwise he'd probably be a lot dirtier). I can't wait until we can pick flowers together later this spring and summer!

Happy Birthday Brenna!

We went to Brenna's birthday on Saturday - she's 5 now!!! Shawn made some yummy cake and chili. Colin ate more than his fair share of the chili, much to everyone's amazement! What a piggy!

Here's Brenna opening her gift from Colin as he looks on.

And the girls playing with her new teaset and cookbook!

And the babies playing (nicely) together.
